Machu Picchu: mystical fifteenth-century Incan civilization, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and arguably one of the most photogenic places on this planet.  Seriously. It’s impossible to take anything but a postcard-perfect picture of this place. Even the worst of the worst photographers have a shot at feeling like they’re official Lonely Planet staff here. You can trust me on this – I have a Facebook album full of blurry and off-centre yet kind of WOAH! photos taken on my Nikon Coolpix ca. 2011 to back it up.  Originally built in or around the year 1450 by the incredibly resourceful and super amazing Incas, Machu Picchu was abandoned a little while later and left largely untouched by human hands for almost 4 whole centuries.
