Despite having a vast majority of the island ripped apart by Hurricane Earl just two days before I got there, Ambergris Caye still managed to take my breath away every second of each day I was there.

Situated just off the coast of Belize City and accessible by water taxi or tiny little plane, Ambergris Caye is a little slice of paradise that everybody needs in their life.

I actually don’t have the words to describe just how beautiful this part of the world is, and I don’t want to do it an injustice by even attempting to, so here’s a bunch of photos instead:

  1. Going to bookmark this because who knows one day I hope to find myself in Belize! I love how clean your website is btw.

  2. Such beautiful pictures. Really looks like paradise on earth. And this is only two days after being hit by a hurricane! That is amazing

  3. Beautiful photos, I cannot tell that a hurricane passed through 2 days earlier, lol, maybe I can. I love the silhouette photograph with the sunset. The pictures of the colourful ocean and the clear lake stand out as well.

  4. Ambergris Caye is truly gorgeous. Wow, Hurricane Earl did a number on Ambergris Caye. We got lucky and visited two years ago. Your photos came out great.

  5. Beautiful photos and to think hurricane was just there! I love the colours of the buildings. I’ve never heard of Ambergris Caye so thank you for sharing such a great post

  6. This place looks like paradise to me! I love the beach, the sand, the green from nature. Love all the pictures that you shared. They look so amazing!

  7. This is such a lovely collection of photos truly illustrating paradise. I would love to visit Belize and the islands offshore. It is a serious up and coming escape for Canadians during the winter months. I hope to get there someday and enjoy the warmth and the beautiful scenery in your photos. Sad the hurricane almost wiped it out, but hopefully it will prevail.

  8. You got me at beach paradise! Another one I have to add in my list. Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures!

  9. I loved my time in Belize. I didn’t go to Ambergis Caye but I did go to Caye Caulker (I am not sure of the spelling). I think this was the more touristy one of the Cayes but was still really nice. You photos really brought back memories.
