I don’t want to cause too much alarm BUT this is my last Croatia post.
*Cue dramatic music*
Despite only spending about 10 days in the country, I’ve somehow managed to whack out a staggering eight whole posts about it. Pat on the back for me? I think so.
They seem to have dragged on for an eternity (read: 2 freaking months), though, and for that I can only apologise.
So for anyone who may have read the title of this post and thought “Jesus Nelly, another few-thousand words about Croatia?! How much more has this girl got?!” you’ll be pleased to know the answer is not a lot. I’ve completely and utterly exhausted my Croatia supply. The Hrvatska waterfall has run dry. The Croatian bird of inspiration has well and truly flown the nest.
And to top it all off, I’ve run out of photos.
Which is kind of a little bit unbelievable because trust me when I say I took a shit ton of photos.
It’s hard not to. Every which way you turn in Croatia is so damn picturesque and photogenic that more often than not you just think to yourself “Oh, let me just stop here for one second and take a quick photo of this pretty view” and the next thing you know BANG your camera roll is 1000 photos deep of pictures of orange roofs and dancing pigeons. Hashtag true story.
I found Dubrovnik, in particular, to be extremely photogenic.
Take a quick scroll through my camera roll and you’ll see that I have enough photos of Dubrovnik to open up my very own art gallery solely dedicated to the orange roofs of the city. And what a bloody fantastic museum that would be! Between Instagram and this ‘ere site, I think I’ve already shared 482 of the 483 photos I snapped in Dubrovnik and the rest of Croatia but HEY LADIES AND GENTLE-FELLAS HERE’S 20 MORE!
You may have already seen some of these floating about in a few earlier posts, especially this one right here. But these are some of my favourites. These are some of the ones that I sit and look at and think ‘Cor blimey why haven’t Nat Geo snapped me up yet?’. These are the ones that take me back to Dubrovnik, to walking along the city walls, to getting lost in the never-ending alleys and side streets, to choking on a piece of asparagus in a very fancy restaurant, and to being in absolute awe of the incredible beauty of a fairytale city.
These are the photos that bring the city alive.
And that’s it for Croatia!
Farewell, you big hunk of orange-y goodness, you are incredible.
